Sugar Nellie-Diane Duda Blog Hop!!!

Hey everyone. Welcome to the Sugar Nellie blog hop featuring the brand new stamps from Diane Duda. Her style is very whimsical and fun. I was lucky enough to get one of these stamps in advance and play with it a little bit. There are some pretty talented stampers participating in this hop, so I am thrilled to be a part of it. Thanks you so much to Karen from Sugar Nellie for setting this up. Hopefully you all will like what I have come up with.

If you aren't familiar with Sugar Nellie stamps, you can find them at Funky Kits. Sugar Nellie is a Scottish company. These stamps are unmounted. This means you will need to either use double sided tape and put them on your acrylic block, or mount them on EZ mount which will then cling to your block. Remember that if you are an international customer you can only order up to 10 stamps per order. I have many of their stamps and have only good things to say about them. I love the way they stamp, they are some of the best quality stamps that I have used. Also, you will be able to order the new Diane Duda stamps on Friday, June 19. I know that I will be ordering some more of her stamps. I should also mention that the shipping from Scotland is very quick, I have had all orders arrive to me in around a week!

The stamp I received is called "Frog Prince."

Before I started stamping, or even scrapbooking I was really into oragami. I wanted to make a box with the stamp featured on the top of it. I tried to get the best picture I could of it.

And last a card that I made to show the entire image.

All images are colored with copic markers. The ciao is R20, that is my usual for cheeks. I used some Sassafrass Lass scrapbook paper to put my box together. It is a very thick paper, so the box should hold up pretty well. I love the deep turquoise and the yellow together on those papers. The ribbon is from my stash, I was very drawn to my sheer ribbons with this challenge, huh? Here are the colors that I used for the box:

I used up some remnants from a Studio Calico kit for the card along with some ribbon that I had in my stash. I also used a bit of Stickles for the crown. And for the card here are the colors:

Another Birthday Card

Here is another image from the swap I did. I won't use all of the images I got, but I really like the Whiff of Joy stamps, and don't have any so this was a good opportunity to test some out. Now, I tried to make her shirt look white. I think it looks a little bit too gray, what do you think? Like I said before I am still learning. I do love my copics though! Here is the card:

I just got an order from All That Scraps. I love their store, they have very reasonable shipping and a great selection of items to pick from. So, I have a couple (okay more than a couple) of new stamps to play with. They are all fairys too! You can check them out here.

I stamp too

I just participated in an image swap at Splitcoaststampers, and thought I would use one of the images I received for a card for my nephew's upcoming birthday. Here is the finished card:


I really like it when other bloggers list which copics they use on their projects, so here are the colors that I used:




I haven't been stamping for that long, and I am definitely still learning. I started scrapbooking around six or seven years ago, and only started stamping a year or so ago. I have been pretty pleased with my results so far. With scrapbooking and stamping I take my time. I am a very precise person, and this drives my friend Dana crazy. When I am at her house for her monthly get togethers she says that she can't watch me! I have to like what I am working on or I will pull it apart until I do.

If anyone has any tips on getting better pictures of the finished projects, I would love to hear them. I used my 50mm 1.8 lens. (That is by far my favorite lens, if you don't have it and use a Canon, you really should invest in it. It is around $100)


Random Fact: I love the beach (really who doesn't though). I spent some of my growing up years living in North Carolina and absolutely loved living that close to the ocean. I always thought I would end up living in a beach house. There is still time though!
